Women line outside a Phnom Penh karaoke bar where sex is sold. There are many such establishments on the road to Svay Pak, on the outskirts of the Cambodian capital. Story highlights Mira Sorvino takes a behind the scenes look at Cambodia's child sex trade Karaoke bars are often fronts for prostitution in Phnom Penh, the country's capital When a club hostess is asked to bring in younger girls, she obliges Girls are shown messages from others who escaped life from these covert brothels. Late one night, after dark, we met up with Don Brewster -- head of Agape International Missions, an NGO fighting child prostitution -- to go behind the scenes at Cambodia's KTVs: karaoke clubs that are fronts for brothels. I threw on some jeans and tried to look like a tourist who was up for a kinky kind of tour, with my ersatz "boyfriend"-- our cameraman, Scott.

My Mom Sold My Virginity
This is a side of life the Burmese military junta might prefer you did not see: girls who appear to be 13 and 14 years old paraded in front of customers at a nightclub where a beauty contest thinly veils child prostitution. Tottering in stiletto heels and miniskirts, young teenage girls criss-crossed the dance-floor as part of a nightly "modelling" show at the Asia Entertainment City nightclub on a recent evening in Rangoon. Some girls stared at the floor while others tugged self-consciously on short hemlines, stretching the flimsy material a few centimetres longer as they catwalked awkwardly to the accompaniment of blasting hip-hop music. Watching these young entertainers of the "Cherry-Sexy Girls" model groups were a few male customers, and a far larger crowd of Burmese sex workers, mostly in their late teens and early 20s, who sat at low tables in the darkness of the club. Escorting several girls to a nearby table of young men, a waiter said the show was not so much modelling as marketing. Prostitution, particularly involving children, is a serious crime in military-ruled Burma, but girls taken from the club would have no problem with the authorities, the waiter assured the company, but did not explain why not. It would seem that prostitution is one of the few things the Burmese military, fresh from its recent crushing of pro-democracy demonstrations by Buddhist monks, is still willing to tolerate.
Reporter's notebook: Covering brothel raids and Christian missionaries rescuing girls in Cambodia
Going once, going twice…sold! Many poor families in Cambodia find that their livelihood is dependent on selling their daughters virginity for thousands of dollars. But at what cost does a daughters human rights really cost? Some girls are even taken for a medical inspection before any sale in order for a certificate to prove she is a virgin.
Cambodia Red Light Districts are awesome! After having spent an entire week in Phnom Penh, I could not disagree with those statements more strongly. In addition, you can also go to the casino in Phnom Penh Naga World Casino and find lots of prostitutes there. The hotel you see in the video below was quite good value.
